About this product

Forehearth lines rarely run straight: they branch after the distributor, narrow as they approach the machine and change level. Using standard blocks at these points multiplies the joints, and every joint is a potential leak. Special shapes resolve the transitions in one piece and cut the joint count to a minimum; dimensions are taken directly from the channel drawing.

Material

Alpha–beta alumina and jargal blocks are fused cast from high-purity alumina. Because they contain no zirconia, they do not seed the melt with zircon and carry a very low risk of stones and blisters in the finished glass. They are the preferred lining for superstructure, forehearth channels and feeder zones, particularly in container and flat glass production.

Applications

  • Channel bends and branch points
  • Narrowings and level changes
  • Final section before the machine
