About this product
Along the forehearth the glass cools, its viscosity rises and the flow slows; under those conditions even the smallest particle detaching from the refractory surface travels into the product as a defect. The low solubility of jargal blocks removes exactly that risk. We cut the blocks to channel length and ship them matched as floor and side sets.
Material
Alpha–beta alumina and jargal blocks are fused cast from high-purity alumina. Because they contain no zirconia, they do not seed the melt with zircon and carry a very low risk of stones and blisters in the finished glass. They are the preferred lining for superstructure, forehearth channels and feeder zones, particularly in container and flat glass production.
