About this product
Produced by melting and casting high-purity alumina, these blocks leave no zircon behind in glass contact. That matters most where optical clarity and colour stability are critical. Their high resistance to alkali vapour also gives long life in the superstructure and the feeder area.
Material
Alpha–beta alumina and jargal blocks are fused cast from high-purity alumina. Because they contain no zirconia, they do not seed the melt with zircon and carry a very low risk of stones and blisters in the finished glass. They are the preferred lining for superstructure, forehearth channels and feeder zones, particularly in container and flat glass production.
Applications
- Superstructure and crown blocks
- Feeder and distributor area
- Coloured and optical glass production
