About this product
The spout is where the glass flow is cut and gob weight is set. The smallest wear on its inner surface shifts the gob weight, which shows up directly in bottle wall thickness. Thanks to their low wettability, zircon mullite spouts give a clean shear and run a long time before wearing. The orifice diameter is machined to the customer production programme.
Material
Zircon mullite is a mullite matrix reinforced with zircon (ZrSiO₄). In contact with molten glass it shows low wettability and sound corrosion resistance while keeping the melt clean. It is the standard choice for forehearth channel blocks, spouts, feeder expendables, vitrified supports and gob delivery blocks.
