About this product
The job of a forehearth is not to carry the glass but to condition it on the way: to reach the same temperature at every point of the cross-section. Channel blocks must therefore resist corrosion and the temperature gradient the burners above create. Zircon mullite blocks meet both demands at once; floor, side and cover pieces are delivered as a single set.
Material
Zircon mullite is a mullite matrix reinforced with zircon (ZrSiO₄). In contact with molten glass it shows low wettability and sound corrosion resistance while keeping the melt clean. It is the standard choice for forehearth channel blocks, spouts, feeder expendables, vitrified supports and gob delivery blocks.
