About this product
On channels that have run for years the cover dimensions drift from the original, so a new set must be produced against the real dimensions taken on site rather than the drawing. In this product group we measure the channel and plan burner spacing, thermocouple positions and insulation thickness together, delivering the covers as a numbered set.
Material
Zircon mullite is a mullite matrix reinforced with zircon (ZrSiO₄). In contact with molten glass it shows low wettability and sound corrosion resistance while keeping the melt clean. It is the standard choice for forehearth channel blocks, spouts, feeder expendables, vitrified supports and gob delivery blocks.
Applications
- Cover renewal on ageing channels
- Lines with a changed burner layout
- Capacity increase overhauls
