About this product
The burners that trim temperature along the channel create very fast, localised temperature swings in the brick the flame strikes. An ordinary brick cracks quickly in that spot. Burner feeder bricks are produced from a zircon mullite composition with deliberately low thermal expansion and their face is shaped to the flame angle.
Material
Zircon mullite is a mullite matrix reinforced with zircon (ZrSiO₄). In contact with molten glass it shows low wettability and sound corrosion resistance while keeping the melt clean. It is the standard choice for forehearth channel blocks, spouts, feeder expendables, vitrified supports and gob delivery blocks.
Applications
- Brick courses facing the burners
- Temperature trim sections
- Conditioning zone sidewalls
