About this product
Every kilogram of furniture entering the kiln is dead weight that must be heated and cannot be sold. Silicon carbide carries the same load in a far thinner section than cordierite and cuts that dead weight markedly; energy consumption drops and more ware fits in the same volume. Its high thermal conductivity also evens out temperature differences inside the kiln.
Material
Silicon carbide has the highest thermal conductivity among refractories. It evens out temperature distribution inside the kiln and carries heavy loads even in thin plates, cutting the dead weight of the setting and raising kiln efficiency. It also resists abrasion, oxidation and attack from molten metals.
Applications
- Thin-section shelves and plates
- Heavily loaded firing stacks
- Energy efficiency projects
