About this product
As it heats, andalusite forms mullite crystals in situ, and that conversion gives the brick a slight volume increase which tightens the joints. The result is a lining that locks itself at working temperature. In rotary kiln throats, lime kiln gas lines and medium-to-high temperature ducts it is a more economical answer than the corundum class.
Material
Andalusite and sillimanite are natural aluminium silicates that form mullite in situ when fired. That conversion gives the brick volume stability at temperature together with good thermal shock resistance. In ring bricks, channel blocks and medium-to-high temperature zones they offer a more economical answer than the corundum class.
Applications
- Rotary kiln inlet throats
