About this product
Channelled refractories act as lining and flow element at once: the cooling air or process gas passing through them also regulates the temperature of the body. Because the smoothness of the channel section directly sets the pressure drop, machining accuracy matters. Sillimanite and andalusite based bodies suit that machining and hold their dimensions well.
Material
Andalusite and sillimanite are natural aluminium silicates that form mullite in situ when fired. That conversion gives the brick volume stability at temperature together with good thermal shock resistance. In ring bricks, channel blocks and medium-to-high temperature zones they offer a more economical answer than the corundum class.
