About this product
A part is usually custom made not because of its size but because of its geometry: a stepped seat, an angled face, or a body with a channel cut through it. Mullite block suits that kind of machining well, since its structure is not disturbed by cutting. We produce the pieces from the customer drawing and deliver them with a dimensional report.
Material
Mullite is the stable crystalline phase of alumina and silica at the 3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂ composition. Because it combines creep resistance at temperature with good thermal shock behaviour, it serves both in glass furnace superstructure and in ceramic firing hardware. Alongside standard sizes, Kent Ateş Tuğla cuts fired and fused mullite blocks to the dimensions each project requires.
