About this product
In electric furnaces the brick carrying the element wire does two jobs: it supports the wire mechanically and insulates it electrically. A brick that changes dimension when hot pinches the wire and breaks it. Mullite resistant brick is produced with the seating grooves already formed and dimensioned to the element length.
Material
Mullite is the stable crystalline phase of alumina and silica at the 3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂ composition. Because it combines creep resistance at temperature with good thermal shock behaviour, it serves both in glass furnace superstructure and in ceramic firing hardware. Alongside standard sizes, Kent Ateş Tuğla cuts fired and fused mullite blocks to the dimensions each project requires.
