About this product
The charging mouth is at once the coldest and the most mechanically battered point of the furnace: cold batch is pushed in continuously, abrading the brick and dropping the temperature with every load. Mullite handles both stresses together. We cut charging bricks to the geometry of the charging machine and leave the wear face thick.
Material
Mullite is the stable crystalline phase of alumina and silica at the 3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂ composition. Because it combines creep resistance at temperature with good thermal shock behaviour, it serves both in glass furnace superstructure and in ceramic firing hardware. Alongside standard sizes, Kent Ateş Tuğla cuts fired and fused mullite blocks to the dimensions each project requires.
