About this product
Vermiculite is a natural mineral that opens layer by layer when heated, as the water between its sheets turns to steam; that exfoliation gives the material its lightness and insulating value. The boards serve as an economical insulation solution in stoves, fireplaces, boilers and medium-temperature furnaces. They cut and screw like timber, so installation is easy.
Material
The insulation group cuts fuel consumption directly by holding heat inside the furnace shell. Ceramic fibre blanket and felt cover flexible applications, calcium silicate and vermiculite boards handle load-bearing insulation, and microtherm boards go where the highest insulation value must fit the thinnest section. Heat-resistant packings seal lids, doors and expansion joints.
Applications
- Boiler, stove and fireplace insulation
- Medium temperature furnace linings
- Economical back-up insulation layer
