About this product
Standard packings lose their function after a few hundred degrees; the genuinely hot zones need high-grade ceramic fibre based products. These packings retain their flexibility and bulk up to the 1260 °C class and so keep sealing covers that are opened and closed repeatedly. Glass-core and wire-reinforced types are used where the joint is mechanically stressed.
Material
The insulation group cuts fuel consumption directly by holding heat inside the furnace shell. Ceramic fibre blanket and felt cover flexible applications, calcium silicate and vermiculite boards handle load-bearing insulation, and microtherm boards go where the highest insulation value must fit the thinnest section. Heat-resistant packings seal lids, doors and expansion joints.
Applications
- High temperature cover gaskets
- Frequently opened doors and ports
- Expansion joint sealing
