About this product
Small furnaces are not scaled-down large plants: they change regime several times a day and demand high thermal shock resistance from the refractory. On the other hand the glass contact surface is small, so single-piece AZS blocks can serve. We prepare complete sets for handmade glass studios, art glass and laboratory melting units.
Material
AZS (alumina–zirconia–silica) is a fused cast refractory produced by melting the raw mix in an electric arc furnace and casting it into moulds. Its zirconia content gives outstanding corrosion resistance against molten glass, which is why it is the default choice for the tank bottom, sidewalls and throat — everywhere the glass makes direct contact. Kent Ateş Tuğla supplies the 33% and 36% ZrO₂ grades both as standard blocks and as project-specific cuts and shapes.
