About this product

The forehearth channel both carries the glass and brings it to the required temperature before the machine. Floor and side blocks are in glass contact and need corrosion resistance, while covers and superstructure need thermal stability. Kent Ateş Tuğla supplies this whole line — floor block, side block, cover, burner block and transition pieces — as one set, cut to the channel length.

Material

AZS (alumina–zirconia–silica) is a fused cast refractory produced by melting the raw mix in an electric arc furnace and casting it into moulds. Its zirconia content gives outstanding corrosion resistance against molten glass, which is why it is the default choice for the tank bottom, sidewalls and throat — everywhere the glass makes direct contact. Kent Ateş Tuğla supplies the 33% and 36% ZrO₂ grades both as standard blocks and as project-specific cuts and shapes.

Applications

  • Forehearth floor and side blocks
  • Distributor line
  • Container and packaging glass plants
