Corundum

High-alumina grade, resistant to abrasion and slag

Corundum denotes the dense refractory class carrying more than 90% Al₂O₃. It stands out for abrasion resistance and for withstanding slag and alkali attack, which places it in stack rings, burner blocks, pouring spouts and mechanically stressed transition zones. Chrome-oxide bearing variants deliver still higher corrosion resistance in glass wool and rock wool plants.
